excited to get started with this month's Compassionate Cards mission. This month will be the Salvation Army located in Tacoma, WA. For more information, please visit their website at: http://www1.usw.salvationarmy.org/us...usw_tacoma.nsf
This organization is a Christian based organization that provides services to the public which include:

• Counseling
• Rental Assistance
• Food
• Life Saving Prescriptions (exclusions include but are not limited to: Narcotics)
• Transportation Assistance
• Utility Assistance
• Emergency Housing
• Child Care
• Nursing Home Visits (League of Mercy)
• Youth Programs
• Emergency Services

I think it would really help boost their moral to know that a complete stranger thought about them and made them a card just for encouragement and hope. I hope that you will join me in this important cause.

There are no restrictions for your card donations. Anything that you can do
to help and encourage would be much appreciated. Some ideas for the cards would be: Hello, Hi, Thinking of you, Thank you, Wishing you all the best, Greetings, Warm Wishes, Let Your Light Shine, Smile, Happy Birthday, and Get Well. Please leave them blank inside. I have a pre-printed message that I place inside each card. Please try and send an envelope along with your card, if possible. One special note: If you will be sending Christmas cards please try and have them to be by the 15th of December, that way I will have a chance to hand deliver them before Christmas. After the 15th of December please send non-Christmas cards.

I'll be sure and update how many cards we have donated. Feel free to
post a link to the cards that you have made so we can all see your work! :0)

Please have your cards to me no later than December 31st. If sending Christmas cards, please have them to me by the 15th. :0)

New Mission for August! IFOPA

Hi Everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this post! I am very
excited to get started with this month’s Card for a Cause sponsored group. This month will be IFOPA(International Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva Association). To learn more about this diagnosis please visit http://www.ifopa.org/. Here is a detailed video of IFOPA:http://www.ifopa.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=105&catid=33&lang=en

I only learned of this diagnosis a year ago when my best friend daughter was diagnosed with this rare disorder. The average person diagnosed with IFOPA lives to be around the age of 40. I think it would really help boost their moral to know that a complete stranger thought about them and made them a card just for encouragement and hope. I hope that you will join me in this important cause to support and lift up individuals that are battling with IFOPA.

There are no restrictions for your card donations. Anything that you can do
to help and encourage would be much appreciated. Some ideas for the cards
would be: Hello, Hi, Thinking of you, Thank you, Wishing you all the
best, Greetings, Warm Wishes, Let Your Light Shine, Smile...Someone's Thinking of You, Happy Birthday(for anyone that may be celebrating a birthday), With Sympathy(for loved ones that have passed on),Get Well Soon, and Biblical messages. Please leave them blank inside. I have a pre-printed message that I stick inside each card. Please try and send an envelope along with your card, if possible.

I'll be sure and update how many cards we have donated. Feel free to
post a link to the cards that you have made so we can all see your work! If you don't have a link let me know if I have permission to post them. :0)

Total for this month!

Hi Everyone! Just a quick update to let you know that we have 135 cards for this month. I am so excited to bring them in to the Cancer Care Alliance!!! :0) I had no idea when I started this mission that I would be faced with cancer again in my family, but it did. :0( I found out earlier this month that my grandfather in England has cancer so this mission hits right at home with me. I wish they could treat my grandfather because I saw how wonderful they treated my step-father. I will be out of contact until the 10th of August. I will miss keeping in touch with you while I am out. Unfortunately, they do not have a computer. There may be more cards coming in for this mission while I am out so I will wait to bring them to CCA until I get back. XOXO Julie.

Compassionate Cards has it's own blog!!

Hi Everyone-

Well......I finally broke down and made a separate blog for Compassionate Cards. I had purchased and submitted all my website pages, etc to create my own website from someone on Ebay. Much to my dismay I have not heard back from him in three weeks. I have sent him repeated emails. I am hoping he is on vacation so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. I will look on the bright side and realize that all my had work is already done. I'll start building this weekend. More to come! Julie. :0)
